2023 New Zealand Veteran Open Championships

Dear Veterans table tennis community

After a hiatus since 2019, the NZ Veterans Test Match and NZ Veterans Nationals are back on the calendar in 2023 and are scheduled to be played in Nelson from 6-10 April.

TTA are now calling for expressions of interest to represent Australia at the Veterans Test Match – proposed age groups are O40, O50, O60, O65, O70, O75, O80. If you would like to be considered for selection, please email me at ceo@tabletennis.org.au by no later than Sunday 29 January 2023, indicating which age group(s) you wish to be considered for. Late expressions of interest will not be considered.

Following closure of the Expressions of Interest, selections will be made as soon as possible in accordance with the Veterans Eligibility Requirements and Veterans Selection Criteria documents, in particular taking the following into consideration:

1. Current National Veterans Rankings
2. Results from the 2022 National Veterans Championships
3. Results from State/Territory Championships
4. Any other information deemed necessary to make an informed judgement

Note that you could still compete at the NZ Veterans Nationals irrespective of whether you are selected to represent Australia at the Veterans Test Match.

Note that participation is on a fully player funded basis and players are responsible for organising their own accommodation, transport, hospitality etc.
