21 TOP TTNSW JUNIOR PLAYERS ACHIEVE 48 MEDALS AT 3 TTA TOURS

21 top TTNSW junior players achieved 48 medals at the 2022 TTA Tours – Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.

 

A total of 457 top athletes from 6 States and Territories competed in 882 individual events across a full quota of events, ranging from U11 to Open as well as Para (Class 1 - 11) in the above 3 national events.

 

14 years old Chulong Nie achieved incredible results with a swag of 7 medals. In Canberra, he won U21 Men’s Singles Gold, U19 Boys’ Singles Silver and U17 Boys’ Singles Gold; n Melbourne, he won U17 Boys’ Singles Bronze; and in Sydney he won U21 Men’s Open Singles Bronze, U19 Boys’ Singles Silver Bronze and U17 Boys’ Singles Gold.

 

                            

 

16 years old Sanaya Buddhadasa achieved incredible results with a swag of 7 medals. In Canberra, she won Women’s Open Singles Gold, U21 Women’s Singles Silver, U19 Girls’ Singles Silver and U17 Girls’ Singles Bronze; and in Melbourne, she won Women’s Open Singles Silver, U19 Girls’ Singles Gold and U17 Girls’ Singles Gold.

Sanaya will represent TTVIC at the 2022 Australian Table Tennis National Championships, and TTNSW wishes the best luck for her in the future.

 

15 years old Clarence Cheng achieved incredible results with a swag of 6 medals. In Canberra, he won U19 Boys’ Singles Bronze; In Melbourne, he won U21 Men’s Singles Silver, U19 Boys’ Singles Bronze, and U17 Boys’ Singles; and in Sydney he won U19 Boys’ Singles Silver and U17 Boys’ Singles Silver.

Three 12-years-old players, Lily Zhang, Leonard Piyachai and Daisy Xie, each won 3 medals in the 3 tours.

 

In Canberra, Lily won U13 Girls’ Singles Gold, Leonard Piyachai won U13 Boys’ Singles Gold, and Daisy won U15 Girls’ Singles Bronze; In Melbourne, Lily won U13 Girls’ Singles Gold and Leonard won U13 Boys’ Singles Gold; and in Sydney, Lily won U13 Girls’ Singles Gold, Leonard won U13 Boys’ Singles Gold, and Daisy won U13 Girls’ Singles Bronze & U15 Girls’ Singles Bronze.

Two 10-years-old Jennifer Dou and Melika Mirzadeh and two 14-years-old Chloe Cheng and Stephen Liu, each won 2 medals in the 3 tours.

 

Jennifer won U11 Girls’ Singles Gold in Canberra and U11 Girls’ Singles Bronze in Melbourne; Melika Mirzadeh won U11 Girls’ Singles Gold in Melbourne & U11 Girls’ Singles Bronze in Sydney; Chloe won U19 Girls’ Singles Bronze in Canberra & U17 Girls’ Singles Bronze in Sydney and Stephen won U21 Men’s Open Singles Silver in Sydney & U15 Boys’ Singles Bronze in Canberra.

Another 11 players won one medal at one of three TTA Tours: U11 Girls’ Singles Sophie Zhou Silver, U11 Boys’ Singles Marc Tang Silver, U11 Boys’ Singles Craig Kelly Silver and U11 Boys’ Singles Ian Yixing Lin Bronze.

U13 Girls’ Singles Cynthia Huang Silver, U13 Girls’ Singles Zilin Zhang Bronze, U15 Girls’ Singles Amy Wu Silver and U19 Girls’ Singles Sue Bin Oh Silver.
