Happy 85th Years Young Birthday Mr Noel Shorter

Very Happy Birthday to TTA Life Member and TTNSW Life Member Noel Shorter, who turns 85 years young now.
Noel was the Coach of the Australian table tennis team of the1971 Ping Pong Diplomacy Tour of China. Noel is still contributing to our great game today and he has enjoyed a long and distinguished career across many facets of the sport.
Vice President of TTNSW, Dr Michael Li, celebrated with the Ping Pong Diplomacy Tour of China Team Members Mr Noel Shorter, Mr Paul Pinkewich and Mr Steve Knapp, who are all TTA Life Members.
Mr Noel Shorter expects to play Ping Pong with the Foreign Minister the Hon. Penny Wong in the future after he received the birthday card signed by Minister Wong and the photo of Minister Wong's playing Ping Pong.
The Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Senator the Hon Penny Wong wrote to Mr Noel Shorter: "I wish to acknowledge the role you played in the 1971 Ping Pong Diplomacy Tour and to congratulate you on celebrating your 85th birthday this year."
The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Commonwealth of Australia H.E. Ambassador Xiao Qian wrote to Mr Noel Shorter: "Happy 85th Birthday! You are the forerunner of the Ping Pong Diplomacy between China and Australia who played an important role in the 1971 Ping Pong Tour to China. On behalf of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Commonwealth of Australia, I would like to express my gratitude to you for your contribution to the friendships between our two countries as always. Wish you good health and a happy life."
Vice President of TTNSW, Dr Michael Li, presented the birthday letters to Mr Noel Shorter on behalf of the the Foreign Minister the Hon. Penny Wong, H.E. Ambassador Xiao Qian, H.E. Consul General Zhou Limin and the NSW Sports Minister the Hon. Stephen Kamper.
The Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney H.E. Consul General Zhou Limin wrote to Mr Noel Shorter:"Sending warmest wishes, heartfelt congratulations, and a very happy 85th birthday to an extraordinary individual Mr. Noel Shorter. May this birthday bring you the joy and appreciation that you truly deserve. Your contribution to China-Australian exchange insports and beyond has truly made a difference and will always be appreciated by the two peoples."
The Honorary President of ITTF Mr. Xu Yinsheng, the NSW Sports Minister the Hon. Stephen Kamper, the Director of Whitlam Institute Prof John Juriansz, the CEO of Commonwealth Games NSW Division Mr Peter Tate and the Director ACY Securities Jimmy Ye wished the happiest 85th birthday to Mr Noel Shorter.
