IN MEMORIAM – TED DAVIS
Published Fri 11 Nov 2022
My family, and I, would like to personally thank Table Tennis NSW and affiliated clubs and associations, for all of your support, messages, cards and floral tributes upon Ted’s recent sudden death, and also to the large number of you who personally attended his funeral service on September 19. We were so incredibly humbled to know how many lives he had touched throughout his own lifetime and the high regard in which he was held.
As a family, Ted’s sudden and unexpected passing has left us all totally in shock and disbelief. He had been so looking forward to once again playing in the Australian Veteran’s Table Tennis Championships in Darwin this year as the NSW Team Captain for the over-75’s, particularly after the COVID-enforced delay of the past three years.
His love of table tennis over many decades saw him become an energetic advocate for wanting to grow the game wherever possible and in so many different arenas. Something he worked on tirelessly, right until the end.
It is of great comfort to us to know that his legacy will live on in those he encouraged to take up the game as a new sport, either in their childhood or young adulthood or, in those he tempted back into the game again after their many years of not playing. He was a true ambassador for the game of table tennis.
Please accept this as our personal thanks.
Sincerely,
Jan Davis
