*Why was Tuesday the 15 September selected?
We have deliberately chosen the date for Primary Schools as it is a date that we, as a nation, are able to reflect that exactly 20 years ago the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony was held.
For those of us present at the Games it was an extremely moving experience where our Nation was totally united in welcoming overseas athletes to our Country. Without doubt, these Games were one of the most successful Olympics held ever.
The Cauldron will be alight again on that date and we will have a genuine 2020 Olympic Relay Torch available. There will be an opportunity for your students to be photographed with the Torch in front of the Cauldron.
What else is available for Primary Schools?
Applications for the Federal Government funded ‘Sporting Schools programme’ are open!
Table tennis is one of the key components of that programme and we are well placed to assist you in your endeavours to provide the opportunity to your students to prepare for championships and also provide a further resource to your school.
