NSW JUNIOR PLAYERS TRIUMPH IN THE YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

NSW junior players performed very well in the 2022 NSW Closed Championships on 12 and 13 Feb 2022 at the Sports Halls of Sydney Olympic Park. Clarence Cheng won the Under 21 Men’s Singles and Daisy Xie won the Under 21 Women’s Singles.
Clarence defeated Chulong Nie to win the Gold Medal whilst Daisy defeated Chloe Cheng for the Gold Medal. Clarence Cheng and Chulong Nie are ranked No 2 and No 3 of U15 Boys in the Australian National Junior Rankings of December 2021.
Chulong Nie is also the only junior player selected from NSW by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) to represent Australia to attend the 2021 ITTF World Youth Championships in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal.
Daisy Xie is ranked No 1 of U11 Girls and Chloe Cheng is ranked No 9 of U13 Girls in the Australian National Junior Rankings of December 2021.
2021 TTA Tour - Sydney was played on 29 and 30 May 2021 at Sydney Olympic Park. NSW Junior Players Yangzi Liu, Danni-Elle Townsend and Celine Chen, won the Gold Medal, the Silver Medal and the Bronze Medal of U21 Women's Singles. Hwan Bae and Chulong Nie won the Gold Medal and the Bronze Medal of U21 Men's Singles.
Hwan Bae is ranked No 3 of U17 Boys, Celine Chen is ranked No 2 of U15 Girls, and Yangzi Liu, Sanaya Buddhadasa and Danni-Elle Townsend are ranked No 1, No 2 and No 3 of U19.
Girls in the Australian National Junior Rankings of December 2021. Hwan Bae has been training and competing in Europe, and he has been in action at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender events in Belgium and France. Hwan performed well overall, showing great fighting spirit throughout.
2022 TTA Tour - Canberra was played on 13 and 14 March 2022 at Tuggeranong Archery Centre. NSW Junior Player Sanaya Buddhadasa won the Gold Medal of U21 Women's Singles. Chulong Nie and Ray Zhang won the Gold Medal and the Silver Medal of U21 Men's Singles.
Vice President of TTNSW, Ted Davis congratulated NSW junior players on their great achievement with the excellent performances at the state and the national youth events.
