NSW JUNIOR PLAYERS WON MEDALS IN 2021 VIC JUNIORS OPEN

2021 Table Tennis Victorian Junior Open Championships were held at the Melbourne Sports Centre on 17 April 2021 with 125 entries from VIC, NSW, SA, ACT, WA & QLD and 520 matches.

NSW junior players achieved incredible results at the tournament with 13 medals.

Most of National Junior Squad Members competed in the tournament which made the efforts of our players more memorable.

 NSW Junior medal winners are:

- Under 19 Girls Singles: Winner – Yangzi Liu

- Under 19 Girls Singles: Runner-up – Sanaya Buddhadasa

- Under 19 Girls Doubles: Runner-up – Sanaya Buddhadasa & Chermaine Quah (VIC)

- Under 17 Girls Singles: Winner – Sanaya Buddhadasa

- Under 17 Boys Singles: Runner-up – Clarence Cheng

- Under 17 Boys Doubles: Runner-up – Clarence Cheng & Stephen Liu

- Under 15 Boys Singles: Winner – Clarence Cheng

- Under 15 Boys Doubles: Winner – Clarence Cheng & Stephen Liu

- Under 13 Boys: Runner-up – Stephen Liu

- Under 13 Girls Doubles: Runner-up – Elina Chen & Dorothy Chen

- Under 11 Boys Singles: Winner – Leonard Piyachai

- Under 11 Boys Doubles: Runner-up – Leonard Piyachai & Joshua Ding (VIC)

The last time NSW junior players won  medals at VIC Junior Open was 2019 when Alice Lee won a Silver Medal in the Under 15 Girls Doubles with Isabella Jiang (VIC).

On behalf of TTNSW our Board members congratulated all the junior players and their coaches for the fantastic results, and for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and fighting spirit throughout.

Tony Aduckiewicz, President of TTNSW, thanked Table Tennis Victoria & Melbourne Sports Centre for enabling TTNSW junior players to compete.
