TTA and the National Selection Panel announced the 2021 National Hopes Squad on 10 May 2021. A total of 3 boys and 5 girls from NSW who undertook Hopes activities have been selected. Incredibly, PCYC Hornsby-Paul Zhao Table Tennis Academy has 2 boys and 3 girls have been selected into 2021 National Hopes Squad. It is 62.5% of selected players in NSW and 19.2% across Australia.
In alphabetical order, per gender:
2021 National Hopes Squad (Girls) from PCYC: Lily Zhang, Sophia Zhou and Daisy Xie.
2021 National Hopes Squad (Boys) from PCYC: Nathan Chan and Andrew Li.
TTNSW director and state junior team manager, Leonie Whiteford, congratulates all athletes on their selection for an outstanding display of table tennis from PCYC.
PCYC Hornsby-Paul Zhao Table Tennis Academy was established in 2009 by Paul Zhao to promote health and fitness and engaging the youth in their friendships and love of table tennis with following values: commitment, resilience, integrity, respect and citizenship.

It focuses on a healthy and supportive community and environment to create training programs and pathways to produce internationally successful, Australian Representative, State Representatives and Club Representatives.
It is aspiring to build creative and innovative avenues and programs to engage social players and sporting in schools to enjoy a common love for table tennis and improve hand-eye co-ordination and enjoy the health benefits of playing table tennis.
Paul Zhao is one notable TTA Level 3 Accredited Coach with following major achievements:

- National Assistant Coach at 2013 ITTF Oceania Junior Championships, New Caledonia
- National Assistant Coach at 2014 ITTF Oceania Cup and Championships, Bendigo
- National Assistant Coach at 2014 ITTF Australian Open
- National Assistant Coach at 2015 ITTF World Tour Australian Open
- National Assistant Coach at 2016 ITTF World Tour Challenge Series Australian Open
- National Assistant Coach at 2017 ITTF Platinum World Tour Australian Open
- Table Tennis New South Wales State Coaching Director from 2002 to 2021
- Coached dozens of players to become State Champions and National Champions
