WTT Youth Contender Event in Darwin
Published Tue 08 Aug 2023
The WTT Youth Contender event will take place in Darwin from 28 Sep – 1 Oct. Please read the information below and the attached prospectuses carefully.
Entries
TTA’s participation in the WTT Youth Contender event is subject to the ITTF/WTT’s entry conditions as set out in the attached prospectus. To best utilize the opportunity of a WTT Youth Contender event on home soil, TTA is extending entry endorsements to players outside of the current National Squads. TTA aims at entering the maximum quota (currently six) in each event category. There is a possibility that more Australian entries per event will be accepted, subject to overall entry numbers from all countries not exceeding the maximum quotas. If more entry spots become available, the additional spots will be allocated in order of priority:
- National Junior Squad members
- National Development & Hopes Squad members
- Players outside the National Squads in order of their National Ranking first and Ratings Central second
As a reference, last year approximately 20 non-squad members were accepted. This year an increase in international participation is anticipated which would reduce entry spot availability.
Expressions of interest
TTA is collecting expressions of interest from all players who would like to participate in the WTT Youth Contender event in Darwin, subject to entry availability, via the online form linked at the bottom of this email.
